1. RSS Cryptocurrency Information Collection Guide

😀Personal Homepage: https://abel.framer.ai

In today's world of constant messaging, achieving a high level of control over information is extremely difficult. Especially in the cryptocurrency industry, we not only need to follow Twitter, Youtube, Medium, and Substack to track the latest developments in the industry, but we also need to check on-chain data to track the progress of whale transactions.

In short, information in the cryptocurrency industry largely translates to profits. If you can effectively control information or get ahead of others by knowing information before they do and make trading decisions accordingly, our profits will be substantial over time.

However, on-chain data is easy to discover and explore, and there are many tools in the cryptocurrency industry that have processed this data and sold it to us as SAAS services, such as Nansen or Dune Analytics. But there are currently no timely and accurate tools available for other types of publishing messages, fortunately, we have RSS.

In this article, I will:#

- Explain in detail what RSS is
- How do we get RSS?
- What are some useful RSS software? (Android/Apple/Windows)
- Share my own personal RSS sources

1. What is RSS?#

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format used to aggregate content from multiple websites and automatically notify subscribers of website updates. With RSS, website subscribers no longer need to manually check if there is new content on a website. RSS can also consolidate content from multiple websites and present it in a summarized form, allowing subscribers to quickly access important information and selectively view it.

In simple terms, RSS bridges the information gap between different applications of multiple websites and presents it to us in a newsletter-like format. With RSS software and the subscription sources you want, you will no longer be constrained by the algorithms and instead experience being treated as the "president of a country" who can easily grasp all the information you want through daily briefings submitted by "subordinates".

After talking about the magical functions of RSS, let's talk about how we can get RSS subscription sources.

2. How do we get RSS?#

RSS has its own special format. If it has not been compiled by any software, it will look like this:
image
This XML format is a common RSS format. As long as we obtain a file in this format, subscribe it to our software, and we will continuously receive notifications from the website.

So how do we get these subscription sources?

  1. First, download the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Search for the desired plugin in the browser's plugin store.
2.1 The first option is Rss Radar.
This plugin has many advantages. Once installed, it can automatically detect any RSS subscription source on a webpage, and even subscribe to almost all social media platforms such as Twitter, Youtube, and even Telegram channels, not to mention regular websites.
After a simple installation, we can intuitively see all the subscription sources. Click on the subscription and copy it into the software to receive direct notifications, and categorize the messages based on any specific criteria.

2.2 The second option is to install Violentmonkey plugin.
Violentmonkey has more functions than just subscribing to RSS, but we won't go into detail here. After installing the plugin, go to the Greasy Fork website and search for scripts.
Search for RSS and click on the webpage to install "RSS+ : Display all RSS feeds on the current site".
After installation, you can see a function to add RSS to the specified software in the lower right corner when you visit the website you want to view.

3. What are some useful RSS software?#

Feedly: It has a visually appealing interface and is suitable for those who value aesthetics. It is a paid service and has some unique features.
Inoreader: It supports Chinese and has a good user experience. It is a paid service and also has some useful features.
Feedbro: So far, I think this is the most user-friendly software! The main advantage is that it is completely free, supports some simple rules and four different themes, and can import unlimited OPML files, which means you are not limited by the number of subscriptions.

There are other software options, each with its own advantages, but I think the above three are quite representative and sufficient. If you have better options, please let me know so that we can improve this guide together!

4. Sharing RSS Sources#

RSS sources are OPML files that have been categorized by others, or there may be other formats, but most software supports OPML format.

1. RSSAggregatorforWeb3 by Zhixiong Pan#

This is a comprehensive collection of RSS information in the cryptocurrency industry, with good categorization. However, I think some of the information is excessive, so I have removed some of it. You can categorize it according to your preferences.

2. Mirror Author List by zlexdl.eth#

This mainly focuses on articles on Mirror and is quite comprehensive, but you need to filter out some low-quality articles yourself.

3. My own sharing#

I have combined the above two sources and added some other sources I usually use. However, it also includes information beyond the cryptocurrency industry, so you can directly download it here. The OPML files of the above two sources are also available in the repository, so you can download and use them directly from the Github repository.
